So, your solution is vigilante justice. Make more criminals?
Good one.
Don't need civil penalties, simply publish the offenders home address, karma has a way of being delivered to the deserving if its enabled.

Where have you been?....You have apparently heard about drones, but not that the Wild West and lynching parties are out of vogue?
Personal accountability is discouraged by those that know they deserve it.

These drones are being witnessed and reported. I don't think many if any have been I.D.ed by RID. Honestly theres not much way of doing it unless some officers download the Karen apps lol.

Too bad we don't have a boo, hiss button along with like button...That response is ridiculous...of course they deserve to be severely punished.....by the proper methods, and in the proper form....not by setting them up for public prosecution, however satisfying that might be to you....hit them in the wallet, make them serve time

Anyone who isn't getting their rubber neck sufficiently flexed by the footage on the news is truly mentally ill. There's nothing to see with a private drone that can't be satisfied just by turning on the news.

Second, @Cafguy: You safe buddy?

The distinction between vigilante justice and the legal justice system is civilization and intelligence. Seems you're happy to toss your lot in with the drooling barbarians.

Ill be looking for your mug shot on the evening news along side the rogue drone pilots.

Thank You sir! Yep no fires in KERN county PLUS NO wind thank goodness I am VERY safe ( knock on wood) as said hotels in our area are FULL and they sent our Fire Dept. to L.A. yesterday.
I have been Watching KTLA and keeping warm this morning. its not looking good for L.A. Today.
and the Sheriff was just on the T.V. talking about arresting vigilantes on site too SOO I would let the Trained people handle the justice side of things.
Only 2 Drone incidents have been recorded in the LA area since monday so seems people heeded the warning.

That is good information. Any links or more info??
That info was included in the FOX News report from the OP. Sadly, it seems some drone operators hope to make a buck off selling fire videos but instead end up paying fines. Too many pilots without brains..make that people in general.

At least we know RID works, 48 drone flights have been recorded in restricted areas..so far. Expect many more fines in the future.
LA is also using Aerial Armor. Must more robust.

I have no sympathy for folks that would even think of putting a drone in the air under those circumstances. Fine the heck out of them and throw them in jail to make an example of them.
I feel the same way about reckless pilots who fly above the clouds with two exceptions namely:
1) The take-off was at high altitude already
2) The 400 ft AGL limit was observed on the way up the mountain.
In both cases the 400ft AGL limit should not be violated without authorization.

Truly not seeing the point you're trying to make here.
The point is: "That you can't fix Stupidity",
There ain't no cure. Even trained professionals commit acts of stupidity.

I think some people don't know the difference between accusations and convictions.
And they vote.
UGH!

I'd be willing to bet the outcome will be a obligatory fine and nothing more. I have yet to see anything to the contrary on previous infractions.
