Funny, or not to funny, I'm in Honolulu to join a ship for some drone work further north at sea. I was just at the beach for sunset, without a drone, just to enjoy the view, and what do I see above me but two Mavic Pro's flying overhead well within 5 miles of the airport according to B4UFLY and right over the throngs of people waiting for the sunset. I think there are those that are aware of the rules and those that are completely disconnected from any source of information and just fly without a care. Side note: because of the sound of the waves it appeared no one else noticed the drones overhead. Just sharing an observation...

While flying over people etc is NOT acceptable..... the 5 miles from the airport is no longer an issue with the new FAA Hobbyist Laws that went into effect 5/17/2019. Here's an excellent link that breaks it down very nicely:
