Bad Omen For Air 3S and Future US Sales

I got ripped off by B+H years ago and wouldn't order from them again anyway. They charged me for an upgraded battery that didn't exist with a still camera. I had to go the cc company about it.
Interesting. This is the first time I'm hearing someone complain about B&H

My 3s arrived from DJI without a glitch over a month ago. At that time there were several who had their's stopped at customs, including Ken Domo's. It seems like the problem with those orders is that they were coming from the port of entry in Miami. Here on the west coast, the drones that came through Los Angeles had no issues.
I can confirm that my own order directly from DJI, placed just last week, for a refurbished Mini 4 Pro Combo Plus kit, arrived 2 days early, on Sunday without a hitch, directly from Hong Kong via DHL, with Customs holds released during shipment. So the pipeline is still open!

I am having trouble to get them to just ship it. Ordered from their website. Never had trouble before since 2017. I want to use the DJI site as I have $52 in credits and want those applied.

That was Dec 7. Two days ago I get this:

Hope this email finds you well.

We appreciate the time you provide to us.

Regarding your order we have contacted our relevant team to check. We got latest feedback from our related team that your order 001------ has been delayed since there is no DDP shipping service in your area. Our sincere apologies.

In this situation, would you mind canceling the order and purchasing the products from the retail store?

Your kind cooperation and kind understanding are much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks for choosing DJI. Have a nice day.

Best Regards,
Jessica

They're telling me to what? NOT BUY from them. What is heck is "the retail store""? Crazy. Just ship DHL like you always do was my reply.

Apparently, DJI cannot successfully ship the product to you, despite their best attempts. The previously discussed U.S. Customs holds are not being released in your delivery location. DHL has no control over Customs.

Navigating customs clearance complexities under DDP terms

Under DDP terms, the seller assumes all responsibility and risk until the goods are delivered to the buyer at the specified location. This includes taking on the complexities of export clearance. Here’s what that entails:

  • Handling paperwork: With DDP shipping, the seller has to provide all the documentation required for customs clearance.
  • Calculating and paying duties and taxes: The seller is also responsible for properly assessing and paying all tariffs, VAT, and any other import-related costs.
  • Delay and inventory issues: Customs clearance can sometimes result in delayed shipments. Plus, any discrepancies in the shipping documents can lead to detention or confiscation of the goods.

As near as I can tell they have re-structured their shipping. Maybe it has to do with the supposed Customs problems. However, DJI has always shipped to me in Guam using DHL. Couriers consider Guam a country (so they can charge more as near as I can tell) so it goes China-HK-Incheon-Guam usually. Less than 7 days on the average. Now I think I have been plopped into the stateside orders and because GU would be a state, the DDP thing comes up. They just now asked me to send it to another state but I still haven't gotten an answer from them where the order(s) originate from. They keep giving me credits for the inconvenience but then can't deliver.

The orders are all originating from China. Hence the problem. You might consider canceling the original order and replacing it with DJI today. Based upon my quickly received Mini 4 Pro Combo Plus order from Hong Kong, they are now able to ship, but the previous orders and shipments may stay in limbo forever!

People are making assumptions based on one sales SKU at BH Photo's website. When in doubt I take a few minutes and phone BH and talk to a sales person.

Every retailer has had the Mini 4 Pro drone combo on backorder but I placed an order directly with DJI in China on Dec 22 and it arrived at my house on Dec 24 via DHL (free shipping).
