Since the propellors are fixed in an almost vertical axis, they are angled inwards slightly, the drone achieves sideways motion by banking i assume. I like to practice figure of eights by yawing and banking in a coordinated way but in reality, I don’t think the drone actually rolls much. I think it’s now designed to keep roll to a minimum and not exceed the capabilty of the gimbal. In the early days of consumer drones, (2012 era) there were videos of people doing full barrel rolls and loops with the first generation Phantom. I think DJI has long since eliminated that possibility.
