Hi recently bought the mini 2 which is brilliant but need a way to recharge batteries on the move and put and about.
I have the 3 batteries pack
Any ideas, I have looked at power banks but they seem inadequate any ideas on car inverters ? Or any other ideas
Many thanks
KJ

say you average 20 mins per flight ,if you got another 2 batteries ,then do the maths you will find that you will be able to film plenty of pics and videos in a full day out ,an inverter could run the risk of taking to much power out of the car battery if the engine is not running ,or you could get a portable generator ,but you are just adding to the amount of gear that you need to carry,i have 8 batteries between my MPP and MM and can be out for a good eight hours, on a good day just traveling around and looking for good spots to video and dont forget its not just the drone batteries but also the RC and screen device to consider as well

Welcome to the forum ?

The charger uses USB voltage, doesn't it?
If so then a 12V or 24V USB cigarette lighter plug charger seems sensible. Though watch out for the total current being drawn from the cig lighter socket. I have seen some multigang sockets being used with large total loads resulting. If you do use multigang extensions make sure the actual wiring in the extension plug and lead can carry the current, I had one that cooked with only a couple of chargers etc connected to it.

I use a small inverter with no issues for MA1 and MA2. Can it eat up the battery? Yes, I suppose so...so keep the engine running.

I have a M2Z and I bought it with 5 batteries. Being a glutton for punishment, I also bought this portable power station: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083NZG68X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This power station will recharge your batts and controller. Note: do not charge your batts while hot - that is a death sentence for batts. This is my method: when batt #1 is done, put in batt #2. When batt #2 is done, put in batt #3. NOW start charging batt #1. When batt #3 is done, put in batt #4. NOW start charging batt #2. Etc. By skipping one batt, you allow it to cool. I did notice, when batt #5 was done, batt #1 was not finished charging. The solution is a total of 6 batts.

The batteries are "intelligent" batteries and won't charge until cool enough, at least in the hub. Are you saying that charging them any other way they lose that "intellgence" and ability to avoid charging until cooled? I think, but haven't demonstrated it, that the batteries individually themselves won't charge until the proper time, when cooled down. So there's no harm applying the charging cord or putting them in the hub warm. Agree?

Be good for you to look up, Battery, Proper rules and Feeding Rules to follow. One of the rules is to let the battery cool after flying. Another one is, never charge battery warm. I also have a inverter, when necessary to charge battery. Lots of great suggestions, but you need to make some kind of reference guide. To help you remember what to do, I have a large index file, to help me remember important info.

Check out chargers by Hanatora or Tercel. 4 batteries charge from 20% to full in about 90 min. Works home or car.
