Ok so I got the 2 extra batteries with my bundle. I thought I was under the impression these should never be fully charged all the time. Do I just charge the a few hours before I go out or can I keep them charged and in the bag while on the go?

Yup charge them ahead of time.

Please read the online manual several times before flying.

The manual will explain that you should fully charge the batteries before flying. Also, the batteries will self discharge down to around 60% if left alone. The DJI Go app allows you to set the time frame as to when the batteries start to discharge. This can be anywhere from 3-10 days.
