Battery overheating

During a Mavic 4 pro flight yesterday I had a battery overheating warning.
The same battery brought up the same warning last time it was used a week ago.

Both times the weather was cool.
Yesterday, the warning appeared when the battery reached 102°F and despite slowing down the temp continued to increase to 112°F when the drone landed.
The warning messages were:
Battery overheating. Stop flying and wait for battery temperature to return to normal. (Code: 16090080)
Battery power restricted. Aircraft performance decreased to ensure flight safety. Return to home promptly (Code: 110013).

The battery has 22 charge cycles and no swelling or other sign of a problem.
I've started a case and will be sending the battery back

I don't think I've heard of this warning before.
Has anyone else seen one of these?

If you had Airdata you could see how each cell is working, your problem may be a bad cell, I had a M3E battery go bad with no swelling and few cycles. I checked the info in Airdata which also sent me an email about the battery issue. I could see how the battery was spiking after only a few minuets of flight time.

This suggests that the temperature is not the problem.

Definitely seems like a battery specific issue with that one battery.
Hopefully, replacing it will resolve the problem completely.

Hi, @Meta4, looks like you have a bad cell in your battery. Maybe you should try a new one.

I've looked closely at the recorded flight data and there's no indication of a bad cell.
I've started a case with DJI and will be returning the battery tomorrow and expecting a replacement.

Ok cool. Good luck with DJI's customer service, though. Can be a bit rusty.

Probably a bad solder joint on the temp sensor or just a broken sensor for it to jump like that.

Meta4, presumably when you swapped batteries the problem disappeared, i.e. it is a specific battery fault?

I have 5 batteries and #3 has brought up this warning the last two times it was used.
