My batteries are starting to swell a bit on the bottom side. They still fit into the Mavic body, but I have to make sure they're secure. Does this mean the batteries are on their last leg? They don't have that much mileage on them to be dying so soon. Did I do something that may have caused it? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes. I would advise against using the bulged batteries and replace them. Better than replacing the drone.
