BC Woman Wins Partial Victory of Drone Video of Ship Breaking Operation

A relatively positive news story from British Columbia, Canada, where a retired woman flies her sub 250g drone to record video of a polluting ship breaking operation, which led to several government fines and work orders.

The company tried to sue her, and BC has anti-SLAPP legislation that gave her a partial victory. The issue of privacy intrusion wasn't decided, but the court said regardless, there are no damages to be awarded on the basis of any defamation by her publishing the videos, as it was in the public interest.
