Beginnings of a 55 MW solar farm

I've been wanting to stop and take a few pictures of this location, and while I was at lunch today I ran into one of the supervisors over this project. I told him I've been wanting to come and drone the location. He said he didn't have a problem with it, as long as he got copies. It'll be a total of 417 acres when it's completed.

I agree, 55KW for all that effort, I would have thought 55 MW (mega watt).

There's an opportunity there if you grab it. A fellow commercial pilot friend of mine surveys 3 solar farms once weekly throughout our state, I've accompanied him on the job on one occasion. It's done that way as a single overflight is as effective as an entire weeks inspection by ground crews in detecting damage to the arrays.

That's a lot more than 55KW (I've hot 20KW on part of my roof).
You probably mean 55 MW (Megawatts).
This is a 15 MW farm
