Best Takeoff Locations.

I'm curious where most of you guys takeoff from, I've just made myself a map of my city's airspace using google earth pro, but I'm now looking for ideal locations to set up my ground station. The most logical place is obviously a public park or field in unrestricted airspace, but I'm wondering if you have any preferred spots. I've only recently become interested in drones and aerial photography, so I'm trying to absorb as much information as possible.

I guess where ever I want to get some aerial pics. I don’t like flying too far from launch site. As long as it’s a legal fly zone, I’m all over the place. The advantage of the mavic is how portable and quick it is to setup and packup

Depends on what you want to shoot. I find places as void of people as possible. Public access to lakes and places where there is open areas to fish are good. BLM and National Forests are worth driving to and in that kind of terrain (trees and hills) I usually use a Titan amplifier and keep my quad close. I'm usually a VLOS flier and avoid homes and building where if I have a problem it won't cause issues upon crashing.

Agree, the best place to take off, is the best place to land; no issues, smooth flying, nice pics, nobody hassling you, just you and the bird...Fly...on your way...like an eagle...fly as high as the sun...

This is my biggest issue. In the Bay Area there are so many airports and heliports that it is difficult to find any location that doesn't require notification. Then they banned drones from the parks and most beaches. Even when I notify ATC it is a headache to see the warning cover the screen every time that I launch until I manage the override. I thought that schools might be a good idea, but this will not work until school is out since there are so many events on all of these athletic fields.
