Thanks... Appreciated... Hadnt thought of reflective tape... may have to try that if it is an ongoing problem, tbh only had the issue on Orkney so far...

I didn't mean that the reflective tape was to scare the bird away. The tape was to let the bird know that you aren't another bird. Although by flying with reflective tape, the constant movement would cause flashing from the tape that could also scare the bird away.

Yup, got it... May be worth a try, although I am also thining strobe lights may do a similar job and also increase VLOS at distance, both in day and night conditions...
