Black square on downloaded photpo

M2P. Out of a few hundred shots yesterday,4 came out with a large opaque black square as in the example attached.Any ideas?Thanks

It's another one of them pesky monoliths descending from stage left. There's a lot of it about.

And back to OPs question. May be bad camera or one of the cables.
I'd try refreshing firmware first though.

Did you try another card? Possibly the write speed isn't fast enough to complete the image before the next photo was taken if you were taking a couple images in quick succession. Possibly a buffer problem? Just throwing ideas out there for guys that know the hardware stuff much better than I.

Could well be so. Maybe hardware but could be software. It would be useful to try and duplicate the problem. Take a series of shots at various intervals, start with a longer interval and get faster until you're in double click mode. Trying various SD cards would also be worth a shot.
