Why not buy directly from the DJI Store? My Flip was delivered 3 days after I purchased it.

Delivery time to PA is about a week now, but not bad compared to wherever else you've been shopping.

Best Buy is alive and well where I live, at least. What makes you think they're going out of business?

I received this in a promotion from dji a few weeks ago
Buy DJI Air 3S - Dual-Camera Drone for Travel Photography
Click on the A3S ...when you scroll down to "buy now" there is a disclaimer stating shipping problems to the East Coast, and specifically mentions New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania ......the log jam should clear up soon...
Best Buy seems to have their own techs who rebuild / refurbish the drones they take back, so they are probably trying to move them out....
What makes you think they may be going out of business?....I haven't seen anything on that

Yes, that makes sense. Most stores in the US don't have DJI products (especially newer releases) in stock right now.

I spend my early adult years in the Twin Cities and Best Buy HQ was within a mile or two where I lived in Hopkins, they were in Eden Prairie. I remember going into their Minnetonka store all the time starting in the latest 80s and I have to say I helped them crush their competitor, Circuit City, when it came to electronics especially stereos and TVs.

Forever, I have heard Best Buy was going out of business as people look for lower prices online and Amazon apparently has everything you need. BBY was just a showroom. It is true they are among the last great electronics/computer stores in America and they frequently shutdown individual stores in cities where there were a dozen locations, now there are only 1 or 2 left.

I remember when they commanded a huge presence and they dictated to the manufacturers what skus they would take and when they would take them; if it didn't show up by September for Christmas, don't bother until next year. For many consumers, this was the only place you could get a good drone. Perhaps not anymore and they may have decided to stop taking DJI drones altogether (like others merchants have) since they seem to can't get the new stuff any longer. I know they are really particular about competing in certain tech spaces and if they can't do well, they will probably eventually bow out of drones.

It doesn't seem that any DJI dealers have outright "stopped taking" DJI drones. Rather, it appears that DJI is not distributing drones to dealers for some reason.

That said, buying directly from DJI is often a fantastic experience. While it might be disappointing for those who prefer purchasing drones in person, there's certainly no shortage of drones available, even if they're not stocked at the usual brick-and-mortar DJI dealer locations.

This is the story I got from the Hobby Place down the road. They said DJI controls their inventory. They don't have a choice. DJI sends them what they want them to sell. And the price is fixed.
They said DJI keeps pushing them Mini 3 drones and has only sent them a single Mini 4. No other drones have been pushed to them in years.

Sadly that seems to be the case with DJI deciding who gets what and when. Yeah you can't sell the good (newish) drones for less, there's a set minimum price until a certain point in time.

While you and I may both have had recent fantastic experiences buying directly from DJI on the Flip and a refurbished Mini 4 Pro Combo RC-2 Plus kit, many others ordering the Air 3S directly from DJI are having their orders cancelled after being stuck in Customs for weeks. Most are not currently getting through. On the other hand, ordering from Adorama, with stock already in country, worked for me on my Air 3S order, just 10 days ago.

I've had the same consistent ordering experiencing with my Air 3S when I ordered direct from DJI on release day.

While it is hard to confidently say that most people are facing this issue, since there is no way to measure, it is clear that something unusual is happening with Air 3S shipments. All shipments pass through US Customs, but not all of them get held up. It makes me wonder if there is a human (political factor) causing delays at certain locations across the US.

I ordered a 3S off the DJI site around the 15th of December and it arrived (from China) in under a week. Perhaps backordered since then.
