Thank you much for the reply. If you’re going with the Mavic 3, wait a little longer. I just returned mine due to some technical issues as well as firmware complaints. I also have the Air 2S. The M3 is definitely the better drone, but not twice as good ($$$). If you lean more towards the hobby side, Air 2S all day. If you must do low light work, Mavic 3. For web work, I don’t see much of a difference in daylight shots until you really blow up the image to see stuff in the background. My 2 cents.
Lets get some duck tape and find out.
Great shots, glad the M3 is working out for you.@Wreckhunter, I finally decided to take the plunge and get a Mavic 3 despite all the complaints I have been reading about it and some misgivings I had. So far I am very pleased, particularly with the dual camera system and the battery life. I also find it very stable in the air compared to my previous drones. Here are a few shots of a building foundation from an early settlement in the early 1900s in the area near where I live. The first shot is from the main MFT camera, the second is from the tele camera at 7X with spot focus, and the third is a pano from the tele at 7X (3 rows, 6 shots per row for 18 shots total). All shots were taken from the same height.

Uhh, am I the only one getting second image, which looks like it has been overcompressed to hell and back?@Wreckhunter, I finally decided to take the plunge and get a Mavic 3 despite all the complaints I have been reading about it and some misgivings I had. Find out how fast you can crash the drones?Lets get some duck tape and find out.
I’ve had something similar happen and it need up in a tree lol. Never got it backUhh, am I the only one getting second image, which looks like it has been overcompressed to hell and back?
Current 2017 Mavic Pro Platinum being plain dated on camera and also otherwise starting to need replacing and while Air 2S would improve camera lot, Mavic 3's endurance and that tele camera is sure interesting. (can't always get closer because of VLOS requirement)

Yes, the images are over compressed. The original second JPEG you are referring to was 9.10MB but I exported it out of Lightroom at 50% further compressing and reducing it to a 2MB file for upload here. Also, I was wrong when I said the 7X image was from the Tele camera, it was a crop from the Hasselblad camera @92mm equivalent. The Pano image was shot from the Tele camera (FC4170) @161mm f/4.4.Uhh, am I the only one getting second image, which looks like it has been overcompressed to hell and back?

That explains it.
That was one of the other major reasons why I went with the Mavic 3. It is rated to fly in temps down to -10ºC. The temperatures are warming up now but I often fly in much colder weather so the temp rating and battery life are a big consideration. The coldest I have flown the Mavic 3 so far has been around -9ºC and I had no problems other than my hands getting cold. Instead of having to land to swap a battery, I could just hover, warm my hands and then continue to do my shooting.Longer battery life is also clear advantage for cold weather:
The less time you spend doing something else than flying, the less time there's for fingers to freeze.
And battery swap is one of those things cooling fingers lot, unless it's doable easily while wearing gloves.
Sure would be nice if designers of products sold globally would be themselves always forced to test those also in cold environment.
Sounds like so far so good with your new M3.Not sure what I am going to get when I upgradeThat was one of the other major reasons why I went with the Mavic 3. I am also considering getting the RC Pro as well as I often fly in strong sunlight but also have had my iPhone shut down prematurely in the cold weather so its rating of -10ºC as well should help with the cold weather flying.

That's still warmer than the warmest temperature I flew my Mavic Pro Platinum in January. That was one of the other major reasons why I went with the Mavic 3. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where we get some really cold temperatures during the winter.
I know the feeling. I have flown my Phantom 3 at temperatures around -25ºC without any problems.I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where we get some really cold temperatures during the winter.
So far my Air 2S has flown at -10C with absolutely no problems at all.
