Was it possibly some form of EMF effect emanating from the surrounding floodlights? Might be worth trying your replacement 'kite' around the same time and from the same spot by way of comparison. From personal experience (as a paranormal investigator) this wouldn't be the first time EM fields have had an affect upon digital based camera systems and caused what witnesses believed to be 'inexplicable' effects and or mysterious objects such as 'orbs' within their downloaded images or footage.
Just a thought.

The lights weren't activated at the time.
But good theory. I wonder if there is any emf given off when they are off. Wish I had an elf detector. I will have to go check again at the same time of day and see the results.

Hey Mike,
EM fields are largely present whether a system is active or inert. The readings will be lower when inert of course and will yield a higher effect when active, yet looking at your images, there seems to be a huge concentration of masts in a focused area which, when combined, may have generated a significant enough EM field to excerpt an effect upon your camera system.
This is simply an experiment Mike, but it won't cost you anything to repeat the moment with your replacement kite and thereafter examine the results carefully upon downloading.
