I have M2P and M2Z. I only updating one of them for RID. If I update all my batteries' firmwares, will they work in the Mavic 2 that is still on old firmware?

I'm doing bc I have a RID module on the other.

I guess if you have one updated just try it and see if it works in the non-updated bird. Otherwise, why not just update both drones so you don't need the RID module. I mean, since it's built in why not use it. I updated my M2Z and Smart Controller back around the first of the year and it's works great. You do need to update both the aircraft and SM to the latest GO4 version or you'll get the code 180 issue. But after that all is good.

You may get an incompatibility message using the updated batteries in the non updated aircraft. Can be ignored.
You could just leave one or two batteries on the older firmware with some form of identifiable mark on them which will probably keep the dreaded pop up messages from annoying you.

WHEN using same batteries in mini 3 then mini 4 ,I never bother doing batteries NEVER had an issue
When I purchased the Air 3s several months ago I never did the batteies again not having any issue
