Can we take photos whilst recording?

Can we take photos whilst recording? Or do we physically have to stop recording, flap over to camera mode. And then flip back to video?

There are numerous utilities out there that allow you to "save photos from video". Some of the results can be quite decent too.

Yea I suppose taking photos from videos recorded in portrait mode will be ok

I find it perfectly adequate for images intended to be viewed on screen. This is the inbuilt, Windows10 Photos app.

I always start recording video before I take off and leave it on for whole flight. While recording in video I can press the photo button and it will take a shot and then continue in video.

You don't need to "flip over" to anything though. Your top buttons can control everything.
