I just got my Mavic Air this past weekend and bought the care refresh for peace of mind. Is this renewable after one year or is this just a one year deal.

Care Refresh service plan cannot be renewed after it expires.

If you bought it with your credit card you may have additional coverage, doesn't quite work like refresh and I imagine there are some hoops to just through, but its better than nothing ;) (check your card for information) I put mine on my visa just in case if the need arises and it might save me from a full cost re-buy after a year :) if not so be it, mavic 18 will be out then and I will want the upgrade anyhow lol

they have an option to get DJI care after activation by sending them a video proof that the drone is fully functional. I don't know if you can use this after 1 year to "renew" for another year.
That option is available if you want to buy refresh more than 48 hours after activation. It is to show that your craft is fully functional. They will not renew refresh after the first year.

Well, if I’m going to screw up my Mavic Air I better do it within the next 12 months. As a new drone flyer, every time it goes more than 12 feet off the ground, I start to get really nervous and I am overly cautious. The few times I’ve been out so far it’s been extremely windy 10-20 mph with wind gusts probably a bit higher. I have been amazed by how well it handles the wind and how calm and steady the video has been.

I have the refresh on my new mavic (which I bought as a refurb from dji) it's great that I should be able to be more at ease flying such a costly investment... BUT then I think if something does happen then I know the drone will take a 3 week turnaround to get back, and I think... 3 weeks without flying... and then I start to feel a bit nervous again.

I had DJ Care on my Spark and turn around time (during the holidays even!) was 9 days! Needless to say I was impressed.

Wow that's impressive mostly I hear it's weeks, good to know it may be a lot shorter turnaround, you must be near their distribution center for shipping :)

I mean 1 year IS more than 48 hours... What prevents you from using this service after 1 year to prove your drone is fully functional and getting coverage again?

That process is required in order to show the Mavic is still in working order. There is no way to buy DJI Care Refresh twice for the same Mavic. The max coverage period for any Mavic is 1 year from whenever you decide to purchase DJI Care Refresh.

Maybe a stupid question but I couldnt find any info on the DJI site about this; I bought my MP used (1 year old) with only 3 flights/charges. Is it still possible to buy DJI care?

If your Mavic was never covered under DJI Care Refresh, you can follow these steps to purchase DJI Car Refresh.

I'm in Seattle, Washington area. I sent it to somewhere in California. Apparently only 1 day of shipping time so probably some advantage there. I'm not sure if they have east coast and west coast distribution. There actually used to be a DJI store about 3 miles from my house but it shut down shortly after Xmas 2017. Apparently they did repairs on site, that would've been awesome.
