Caution re Dynamic Home Point Function

Dynamic Home Point is available with the RC 2 controller and Mavic 4 Pro. That's what I'm using.
That's odd. One of distinguishing factors between the controllers at launch was only the RC Pro 2 was capable of Dynamic Home point. Has there been an update for the RC 2 where they announced adding that feature to it?

That's what was my first impression, that only RC Pro 2 has this feature. I have M4P with RC2, and DJI pushed out a big update for the RC2, few days back, perhaps this DHP is a new addition. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked and found it there

So was this announced as a new feature in the update release notes?

Missed the last RC 2 update. Undoubtedly for adding or tweaking the functionality with the new Mini 5 Pro, and supporting DHP on both the M5P and Mavic 4 Pro. Good for them.

I'm sure there is also a new comparable update to the RC Pro 2 to add in the M5P to the list of available aircraft.

There is; I updated both my RC2 and RC Pro 2 to add the M5P to the list qlthough I'm reluctant to purchase an M5P since I already have the A3S and Mavic 4 Pro; my A3S has seen very little use since MP4.

I am exactly in same shoes, I have an A3S that I was actively flying before getting my M4P, I have not flow it since M4P arrival. It is a good drone though, planning to keep it.

What I am actively pursuing the RC Pro 2 purchase, but man, they ask for it more then what I paid for my A3S fly more combo package, its just crazy!

Should have purchased the Creator edition, that RC Pro 2 is nice, its what I did. Have five batteries each for the A3S and MP4 plus DJI ND filters for both, beautiful hard cases for both, backpack and all. I was considering purchase of additional batteries for the MP4 but I don't really fly that much, five batteries is enough, besides don't want to end up with older batteries.

I just updated both of mine as well, getting ready for the arrival today of the Mini 5 Pro. It is the only drone DJI now sells that does not broadcast RID while simultaneously offering many of the same features as the Mavic 4 Pro, like instant on by opening the props, rotating gimbal, Free Pano, Dynamic Home Point, Lidar, and a 10 minute improvement in flight time over the Mini 4 Pro (30 minutes even in windy conditions, based upon one reviewers testing vs. 16-20 minutes on the Mini 4 Pro), even though rated for only 2 more minutes. It's also 0S4+ when used with the RC Pro 2. It also is the only DJI drone to offer a Bicycle tracking mode. Great new addition to the fleet.

Whose Bicycle do you intend to track?
Why do you assume that I intend to track a bicycle?

I was merely citing a new DJI feature unique to the Mini 5 Pro, where it can now be used for tracking a bicycle, in addition to people, cars, and boats.
While some may use it to track themselves riding a bicycle, FAA would have a problem with that, but it isn't sold here, so it's a useful feature elsewhere, especially in combination with Dynamic Home Point, so 30 minute one way flights are possible tracking a bicycle off road. Not recommended in traffic in the city. LOL!
