Change in GEO RTH settings in new update?

I've seen some discussion about changes in the GEO zone RTH procedures with the new update.
Previously, DJI stated the drone will descend until it exits the GEO zone and then RTH. Now, it says the drone will just hover in place.
Can anyone clarify? Opinions?
