Changing props?

Hello, I have about 5 hours flying time in on my original props--still a newb here--I was wondering, is there a suggested time/usage time limit on props for flying? I always inspect them before every flight, and make sure they are secured in the motors. Even though they "look" knick free, no cracks, etc. should I replace them every so often even though they look good??? Thanks for your comments in advance.

i have flown my MPP for 45 hours on two sets of props, as long as you check them regularly they should be ok, one of the main things to look for is very fine hairline cracks on the leading edge, and check how loose the props are on the hub, they should have some resistance when folding unfolding them there is no specific time it all depends on how they are used

Thanks so much for the info. Along w/ the other pre-flight checks I did this afternoon, I checked for the hairline cracks too...all is well. :-)

MasterScrew recommended no more than 500 hours of flight time on a set of propellers. Haha. I haven't gotten anywhere near that "limit" yet.

Thanks for the info. It will no doubt be YEARS for me too. LOL...in the meantime, I will check for the other little things that could creep up as suggested earlier. :-)

The drone has likely been crashed and replaced, or upgraded long before then!

Over on the DJI forum they say 200 flights or 73 hours. Discussion about it here - Propeller replacement
Realistically, that probably is also the lifetime use of most individual aircraft, except for a heavy commercial user. However, since we get two sets, replacing them anytime they show any signs of wear, even from just rubbing on the aircraft during opening and closing of the arms, is a good idea.

Thanks. I definitely will keep this in mind, it will be quite awhile before I hit 73 hours. :-)

Indeed! 200 flights is flying 4 times a week, every week for an entire year! 73 hours would also require each of those 200 flights to be 22 minutes each! Requires a warm, sunny, relatively wind-free climate, all year round!

And THAT kind of climate definitely IS NOT here in Northern NY...nope, not even close! LOL

Not sure about the Mavic 2, but I'm still on my original props for my Phantom 3 Pro and I'm sure I'm close to doubling those hours over four years of HEAVY flying!

Maybe I should replace those props just on general purpose, lol.
