Seems my Moto Z play 8.0 & my galaxy tab A8 are not compatible to the mavic mini, do I have any options? A new phone or tab is not an option (they are new). Any advise would be great. Thank you.

They might be compatible, but DJI does not support them.

Try your devices and see if they work. If neither work, sell them and buy one of the supported devices listed here:
