This morning, 12/15/2024, an Illinois US congress representative appeared on Sunday Morning Futures in support of a DJI ban. He did mention some National security issues but went on to say that because DJI drones were inexpensive, it prevents US manufacturers from gaining ground in the consumer drone market. He went on to hint that US manufacturers would potentially receive some form of government support or incentive to develope consumer drones if a ban on DJI drones would occure. I have always suspected that the national security issue was a smoke screen, paving the way to eliminate competition. If there is, in fact, a National seccurity issue here and it can be shown to the American consumer, I would gladly gound my drone. The power of the congressional lobby is huge. The government should not be used to eliminate competition.

AND whos fault is that? Hmmm

So He simply wants to hold business owners Hostage until he gets what he wants? These incentives and government support can be given without the Ban stipulation!

You have speculated wisely.
The government should not be used to eliminate competition.
They take care of the 1 percent and any foreign company making money here for anything is competition!

The fact is that the Chinese government support lots of it's industries, either monetarily or through lack of restrictive laws or both. If we want to compete with them on that level a whole lot of people in this country are going to be upset. Far more than just the drone community.

It's really hard for me to state my opinion here without it going sideways or being political, so i will say that i totally agree with all the opinions above and hope our government stays the heck out of this.

The congress clowns never tire of showing how utterly inept and mindless they are... Such corrupt useless clowns.

My thoughts on all of this.

Adam Bry responded to this article by blocking me on LinkedIn (no idea why). Michael Robbins did respond personally via email, but didn't comment directly on the article.
