Conflicting information from DJI on care refresh for Mav4 Pro.

So if I buy from withing the US...there is a fellow selling them in Florida...I wonder if they would support DJI Care Refresh from Canada or if this would only apply to purchases from Canada as I suspect would be the case. This thread makes ordering from Canada sound pretty onerous.

DJI Care Refresh from Canada does not have the collaboration with DJI USA to support cross border shipping, unlike the DJI Canada warranty which is facilitated by DJI USA at their expense. The cost of buying from Canada through DrDrone.Com and shipping to the U.S. with tariff surcharges of 60% exceeds your cost from Adorama by over $1100 for no additional benefit.

At this time, based upon all my research today, were I you, I would only buy from Adorama. If they are out of stock, place a pre-order. They now have a ready ongoing source of supply from DJI Canada. You'll have repair assessment from DJI USA and free warranty replacements and repair refurbs provided through DJI Canada at no shipping or tariff cost to you., facilitated by DJI USA.

If "the guy in FL" you are referring to is CovertDrones, he explicitly disclaims all DJI warranties and says his drones are not eligible for Care Refresh as a condition of sale. His $5400 price (plus sales tax) is now also $750 higher than Adorama on the Creator Combo. There is also something strange going on with the units already open boxed and activated, and the two of the three batteries of the Creator Combo shipped a week after than the drone and controller. Not sure where he is getting his inventory. Sounds like open box returns already activated that may have been charged a 15% restocking fee by some seller. He unbinds the drone before shipping so you can bind it to your account. Sounds sketchy when Adorama offers a brand new, unactivated drone package with 1 year DJI warranty for $750 less!

Living in Alaska, you have no state sales tax, so your total cost is the price posted on Adorama.

Still available, and ships directly from Adorama's warehouse in Tennessee tomorrow morning with UPS tracking number by noon and UPS scan by 6pm.

I thought someone said you can't get Refresh on Adorama drones because they are not US Releases?

You can't. However I was replying regarding purchasing directly from Canada, not Adorama. If you buy from a Canadian dealer, you can buy Care Refresh, except it will not be facilitated by DJI USA like a DJI warranty claim through DJI Canada. You are on your own to get the drone back to DJI Canada for any claim under Care Refresh, and you will have to figure out how to get your refurb from Canada back to the U.S. each time and through Customs, likely paying a 55% tariff. Not practical.

Today, you cannot get Care on drones purchased from Adorama because DJI has intentionally blocked that service. One day DJI should open it back up and as with any DJI drone that meets the criteria, you should be able to use the video verification process to obtain Care. As you know, Care is a paid DJI service plan so they do get to decide when and where and how to implement the plan. Much different than a manufacturer's warranty.

Early on in the launch before DJI has a chance to block it, there are rumors that a few customers and/or a few retailers were able to access the system and purchase Care for the M4P but that has since changed. Not sure what happens if they were to try to make a claim.

June 17, 9:59 AK time just ordered ...with Pro controller but the Pro Controller doesn't show up on the web site, you have to call. They thought the warranty was done in the US so who knows if this will really be covered but I'm taking the gamble. This will reportedly ship by the end of the week.

Just a follow up on my repair from DJI, the replacement shipment from Canada has been sitting in a customs hold in Louisville, KY for 7 days now and shows no signs of being released. DJI said they have referred it to Logistics and there are no further updates. After weeks of back and forth in total I've given up on the idea of getting it on my doorstep.

Sorry to hear that. They’re really bad part is this is all just a crapshoot with some people putting them through and others being delayed and still others having them returned. Doesn’t make it and actually gets returned to Canada keep an on eye on Adorama, which has stock here and there

This is exactly why DJI is not selling the stuff in the United States has nothing to do with tariffs

So you did not order the Creator Combo that comes with the RC pro 2?

It has everything to do with tariffs, why else would customs be holding a Chinese drone? Not sure how anyone can try to spin this. Donald Trump is solely responsible for this chaos, without him we would be having the Mavic 4 Pro in the US without any issues as we have every other drone DJI has ever created.

While it is probably true the M4P is being held up for the reasons you mentioned, DJI drones have been held up since mid- to late-2024. I blame the entire government for responsibility for this chaos. I remember the Air 3S being the first big standout:

My Adorama Creator Combo with the RC Pro 2 is arriving today (or is set to do so). I'll get it listed with State Farm right away and learn once and for all about the conflicting reports on whether it will be covered under any warranty or Care Refresh which I am not counting on. I remain hopeful that at some point DJI will open up warranty and Care Refresh to the US. In the mean time, I'll keep the drone within 2 miles and only fly on the back sides of buildings where I can't see it if there are people below that can catch it if it drops out of the sky. In all seriousness, I'll only have 3 batteries which isn't enough for a day of flying and I can't get any other batteries at this point so it will be interesting to figure out how to best integrate it into my filming. Even ebay sellers won't sell to AK so I may have to get something sent to a relative in the Seattle area. I love first world problems.

Congrats, glad you're finally getting it. Thumbswayup
