I would like to get a DJI Mavic but would like to relate its control to control theory and matrices. Is that possible?

The answer is No, you cannot really change the Parameters of these type of drones.
There is some hacking software out there but it is very limited and not open to those type of changes.

DJI Telo has some open interfacing potential for programetric control. Not sure I’m remembering correctly, but I think it was with Processing. Python? I forget. Not my world, I’ve not done it, but look into the Telo!

It’s a pretty lightweight drone with no GPS, it relies on a visual stabilization system. Well suited to indoor flight in larger spaces. A very fun drone especially in schools.

Couldn’t the OP get the SDK for something like the Mini 2 from DJI and get under the hood of the control?
