I fly a Mavic Pro and I have 3 batteries for the drone. But I can never fly that long because my controller
runs out of juice first. Is there any way to keep a controller charged without stopping flying and hooking it
up to its charger for hours?

That's weird, I have about 30% left on my RC after three batteries. Some will carry a remote power supply (like you can use to charge your phone) and have it plugged into the side port while using the center USB port to connect to their display.

One time I did get a low RC battery warning because I had forgotten to charge it. I plugged in a mostly spent MP battery using the adapter that came with my FMC and that worked for the last few minutes of my third battery.

Looks like I will be getting a remote power charger to use when it gets low again.
Thanks

What kind of phone/tablet are you using? Your remote will charge android devices as you are using them. It could be your display device is hogging the power.

I have an Android tablet which charges but my RC battery still will outlast 3 MP batteries. Make sure everything is fully charged before flying.

Yeah your device is most likey sapping your RC's power. A portable charger probably won't help much, as it takes quite a while to charge the controller. I'd either look for a new phone/tablet or a second controller.

It won't necessarily increase the charge of the RC while flying, but it will use the portable charger as an additional power supply and allow you to keep flying.

I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab A Android tablet. It sounds right that it is zapping the RC of power.
Before I fly I always have the RC, all batteries and tablet fully charged. I guess I'll look around to
price another RC.

I use a Tab A and can fly 3 batteries on my MP. I fly in airplane mode, no other apps running, and Bluetooth turned off. On sunny days I have the screen brightness turned all the way up.

I guess we will all be faced with failing RC batteries eventually. Hopefully someone will post a video on how to replace them.

Here is a video showing the use of an external power supply with your RC. Since I use a tablet holder I would attach the supply to that instead of my tablet using Velcro or something similar.
