Fairly new here. Curious is there a reason my controller would revert back to an old version making me have to upgrade again to be compatible? Does that make sense does in my brain lol. TIA.

I don't think it can automatically revert to an older/earlier firmware version. You can use the Assistant 2 program on computer to go back to an earlier firmware. You can also use it to move to the current version for controller, drone and batteries.

If you have more than one battery, then batteries EACH have to be upgraded. Do that by upgrading a battery. Power off, remove battery, install new battery power up and meet with prompt of "incompatible firmware" and upgrade the next battery in turn.

What are the circumstances that make you believe you need to upgrade the controller?
What's the exact 'upgrade' message that you are seeing?

As f/22 points out, it's most likely the battery that needs to be upgraded. They have their own built-in firmware.

So I figured if out after reading this my controller became incompatible with the mavic. I went to plug it in said incompatible software went through the millions of tries ended up going to 1st version and the 2nd so on. Works now batteries have all been updated now also. On a side note. Is the smart controller worth it? What Benny's do u get? Thanks again!DJI_0030.JPG

Wait what are you Flying? Mav 1 or 2?

Mav 1, if you want to rollback, roll forward firmware of RC (or AC) there is a method
Theres forum rules, so I can't give it to you, but it's named after some Harry Potter ****.
Theres a tool to download the Firmware you want, but you have google too, you'll work it out.

You may aswell silence the annoying beeping while your at. No idea what that app is called ;P

Edit: If you mean incompatible, as in smart controller. Your Dji's minion now

Some think the Smart Controller (SC) is worth it and other prefer larger screens or Apple OS.

I really like the SC. No cables, no odd mounts, bright screen, one device to charge. Fast setup and fly. But on the other hand, it contains a limited Android OS and so some 3rd party apps don't work including one folks like for advanced missions - Litchi and some other mapping apps.

It is not cheap by any means.

If $750 wasnt a months wages for me, I would probably have got one on day one, same as CrystalSky.
Out of Interest, Does it have the Bright screen from Crystalsky. That would be neat(er)

My Bad btw Zombicon.

I'm not knowledgeable about the specs but it has a bright screen. Others will cite the nits values. But it is definitely a costly item at the moment.

Well at least you'll never have to insert/reinsert smartphone, possibly wearing out the phone port like i did.

Only thing if i got one, I'd be sad to see my standard controller gather dust.

Everything about Mavic Series from DEsign pint of view was done So well.
Drone looks seriously Skynet.
Controller looks like Ships from Tron when Unfolded.

SC Controller Kinda does too. Good they put the sticks in the right place above screen.
Enjoy it
