Just posting this, it may help someone.
I just had an issue with the controller/drone not pairing it worked fine yesterday.
I normally use the controller with a Samsung Tab S5e. Switching the controller on along with the tablet, then starting the Air 2, I got the message that it couldn't find drone. Tried to pair by holding down the drone power until it beeped, but it still couldn't see it. I reloaded the firmware via DJI Assistant still the same issue.
Connecting my phone, still wouldn't pair. I updated the DJI Fly app even though the latest version (1.4.8) was installed, low and behold I got a connection. Doing the same on the tablet and it also connected.
