Controller?

Hi

I recently acquired a used mavic 2 pro.
When I connect, the "screen" it is very different.
I can’t get satellites, it doesn’t show any map, I have no functions, (I guess because I have no satellites) I can’t calibrate the compass.

I have tried a friends Apple phone – we got satellites, but screen looked the same and I still couldn’t calibrate the compass. I had a short test flight and all flight functions worked (RTH worked as it should) The only issue was when first engaged, it hovered about 5M off of the ground.
I have tried a S10 phone, S23 and a Galaxy Tab A. I have tried a cable in the side and at the bottom of the controller.
I have noticed when I use the S23 I can access the settings in the top RH corner, but not with the other androids.
I live near an airport - could this prevent the controller from working correctly?
I have tried the drone at an oval about 9 KM away, with the same result.

Could the controller or GPS module be the issue?
Could a smart controller be the fix? I am interested, but was hoping to "play" with the drone first.

Also when outside, I get a Mag. Error – the take-off symbol won’t work. When inside, I don’t get the error ???? and I can use the take-off symbol – but cancel before starting the props.
I have a Mini 2, Aroo and a Cuta Copter, and have no issues when testing these in the back yard.

Any input will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You're using the wrong app for a DJI Mavic 2 Pro according to your attached pics...

DJI apps can't be acquired through the app stores since several years back... you need to download them directly from DJI's web site & then sideload them to the mobile device.

The app for a Mavic 2 Pro is called DJI GO4 & can be downloaded from the link below (use the barcode there with your phone & it should start the download)

DJI Go 4 - Download Center - DJI

Thanks slup

I have done the download and it looks like it should - I haven't done a test outside yet, but I am very confident it will work. I had downloaded Fly Go 4 from Google play.
Thanks for your time.
I am very happy.

Thanks again

David

That's one of many kind of, "scam" apps that want to trick you into paying for a "PRO" version... none of these apps works fully & problem free with DJI drones.

You are not the first that gets confused. Some years ago DJI withdraw their apps from Playstore due to some disagreement with Google, and then some scammers placed some apps on Playstore with very similar names like DJI's own apps. As you have discovered they are rubbish, and some of them might sort of work, but you need to pay to use them.
DJI Go4 and DJI Fly apps are completely free.

Also, if you're getting compass errors on first use of a used aircraft that you've never flown, you should definitely calibrate the compass. It's not a difficult or lengthy procedure (see the owners manual or google a tutorial). Do it outside, of course.
