So the cooling fan is pressed up against the mesh and so it won't run. I tried prying a wire in to push back the fan and then the fan would run without problem. But I obviously can't just leave the wire in while I fly because it'll fall out. I not looking to send it to dji for repair I am more wondering if I could simply open it up and move the fan back into its correct position

Yes you can. Only a bunch of screws to remove to get it back in place.

Invest in quality tools. and take your time, a vew vids on YT show how to crack the case.
There should be 1 screw bedded with epoxy, chip it out. Tamper seal for DJI.
