When I take my sd card straight out from my mini and use a card reader into my iPad or phone to view files it doesn’t show a thumbnail for larger files( over 3GB)all other files(drone;rocket;circle;helix etc all have thumbnail and work ok);when I try to open it’s says file may be damaged;then if I play via the mini and controller that same file plays ok;any ideas?,thanks

Hi, I think the larger file format wont' support. If the files not open or damaged you can try video repair software which can easily fix the issue or you can convert the file with the supported formats. There are many video repair software in the market which have capability to fix the damaged files such as Stellar Repair for Video, Recuva, testdisk, Photorec. Thanks!

If you use apple, the file size is not relevant. On android or windows, the filesize is limited. Since the DJI-products use an android-like system, the videofiles are split in smaller files of each around 4,2 GB. For the performance while editing is that not a problem, the files "fit" exactly.

Found the solution:-after flying/recording(20 mins)if I put sd card from mm into a card reader on my iPhone often shows as damaged!!;;answer is to put card back into mm sync to controller and press recorded for 1-2 seconds;turn off and remove card;put back into iPhone and works every time;no issues(using photo fast one app and card reader)

I had a similar issue with a video file from my Mavic 2 Pro recently. The file was on the SD Card, and both my iPad and Windows PC could see the file, but it had no file extension that either OS recognized, so it showed as corrupted. It also happened to be the last video that I had recorded that day, and this became a clue.

I too placed the SD Card back into the copter and booted it up. I waited about one minute, shut the copter down, removed the card, and the file was now recognized.

Since then, I have done a bit of reading here on the forum, and indeed, the copter's processor needs a bit of time to not only write the video data to the card, but it then applies the proper format to this file so it is viewable - or something like that in computer terms.

I am more of a photo guy, but if shooting video, I no longer land and quickly shut the copter off. I land and let it 'finalize' the last file it recorded for thirty seconds or so, and I have not had that issue since. That said, in order to recover these files - unless there is something different about the MM - the remote should not be required, and there should be no need to press record. The copter just needs more time to finalize the file.
