Could the battery overheat when discharging?

If Mavic 2 batteries are surrounded by foam stored in a hard case, could they overheat when going through the auto discharge?

The batteries aren't hot to the touch while discharging. Considering that many people store their batteries in cases, this should be a non-issue since people haven't been experiencing this issue over the past several years.

Consider they discharge about 40-50% over a 48 hour period. Not many watts there.
