Device setup for Litchi Waypoints

I live in an android world. Have been told ios is best for mavic pro and litchi waypoints. I see that Amazon has sales on ipads 2018 Silver (32 gb) and 2018 Gold (128 gb) wifi only.

will either of these work well with Litchi waypoints on a mavic pro (I am brand new to both).

iOS is not "best" for the Mavic pro.
Android or iOS work equally well - as long as you use a phone or tablet that's up to the task and has a fast enough processor, graphics and enough RAM.
If you're shopping for a tablet and preferred to stay with the operating system you know, look at the Huawei M3 or M5 for the best Android flavoured flying tablets.

Make sure whatever you purchase has a GPS receiver.

So if I were to purchase a Huawei M5 4gb/64gb WiFi only that would be ok?

Would any Android tablet with same specs be ok, or do the Chinese devices work better together?

OK? It would be much better than just OK.
That's the perfect flying tablet.

To have the same specs, they would have to use the same processor and graphics chips but no others do.
I don't think you'd find many tablets that aren't Chinese made.

Almost all Android devices have GPS anyway.
But having GPS in the tablet is only important for Follow-me flight and resetting the home point to the current location of the controller.
Neither is particularly important.
Active track works better than Follow-me and if you are out on a boat, resetting home to the aircraft's location works just as well as the controller location.
Not having GPS on the tablet makes no difference to map functions.

I was a little fuzzy about which map functions would be affected. I do know that the RC location cannot be updated on the map without device GPS capability.

Almost every Android tablet has GPS (I've heard of one Samsung that didn't)

What makes you think that?

Every listing I can find for it indicates that (like almost every Android tablet) it does have GPS

I may not be reading the specs right, and I am really not looking too deeply into it, but when the Wireless Technology category does not list GPS for some models but does for others it leads me to believe that it is not included. It boils down to doing your research before buying and making sure you understand the return policy if you do not get what you need.

That's just sloppy compiling on that table
GPS is not wireless and should not be listed under wireless.
The one on the left doesn't even show wifi, but you won't find a tablet that doesn't have wifi
