Just bought a new (to me) Mavic 3 Pro. Was intending to DH it, but alas the previous owner had updated it to firmware is 01.01.0700 and DH says their wares will not work and there is no rollback available. Are there known workarounds?
Not that I am aware of. If you find out otherwise, please update us here. That's why the FW version of a used drone is the most important criterion I care about, which most buyers never ask about.Just bought a new (to me) Mavic 3 Pro. What DH parameter changes are you wanting to change from stock FW on the Mavic 3 Pro? DH can't do much on the Mavic 3 Pro anyway in the U.S., and with DJI's elimination of GEO restrictions, there isn't much you can't already do anyway on current stock FW. RID cannot be disabled on any version of any aircraft by DH.
Sometimes, the best way to get an early FW version is through Refresh, or buying a DJI Refurbished drone. The so called Refurbished units are usually all new units from very early FW and are not updated.
With mandatory GEO now removed, the new 1000m altitude limit everywhere on all Mavic 3 series and Air 3 series units is a huge improvement over the prior 500m limit, except where over 50km from the nearest airport. Now that the Altitude Zone ribbons have been removed around airports, you can climb to the top of Mt. Soledad from the beach, which required a custom unlock before, as there was a 150m altitude limit above the 835’ peak which was more than 150m above sea level.Mostly altitude limit and the login requirement.
- Sometimes I don't fly for months at a time and then am faced with the stupid login prompt in the middle of nowhere because I forgot to check it while still in cell phone range.
- Most of the time I fly over mountainous terrain where a ridge can be 1000ft+ up from the takeoff point. The M3P gives you the option to increase the altitude limit to 1000m which is a big improvement, but I will probably find a way to run into that limit too.
