Hello,

I have previous experience mapping using Drone Deploy and the Mavic Pro 2 drones. I see that 3rd party apps aren't compatible with the Pro 3 series. Are there any workarounds for mapping using the Mavic Pro 3 that are similar to Drone Deploy? e.g automated flight paths that take multiple vertical photos over a defined area which are then stitched together?

Thanks.

Litchi's new mission hub now supports mapping missions. Maps Made Easy is a cost effective solution for creating orthomosaic images.

From what I understand none of these 3rd party options are possible with the DJI Mavic Pro 3?
Maybe this is a work-around to consider? Litchi Hub allows exporting planned waypoint missions as KMZ files, which can then be imported into the DJI Fly app on supported drones, including the Mavic 3 Pro.

My understanding is that DJI has to update software to allow an SDK (3rd party software) to be used with a particular drone model. They haven't done that for most of the newer models, yet. I was using Drone Deploy with my Air 2s, which I bought used just for that purpose after discovering that my Mavic 3 didn't allow it. As luck would have it, Drone Deploy then stopped supporting the Air 2s with their free version. I purchased DroneLink to use instead, and it has worked well.

All this being said, hopefully DJI will open some more drones up to allowing 3rd party software. They recently allowed it for the Mini 4 Pro, but so far DroneLink isn't supporting it for the new RC Pro 2 controller I'm using with my Mini 4 Pro.

I've seen some videos on YouTube showing a workaround for getting KMZ files into your Mavic 3 Pro and other newer drones, but it's a little clunky. One of the key steps is being able to access the waypoints folder in the controller. It is visible on my Mini 4 Pro controller, but not the Mavic 3. I've also seen another workaround that addresses that issue, but I haven't tried it yet.
