Did HomePoint Move in Flight when switched to Litchi from DJi-FLY ?

Homepoint had been moving arbitrarily during flights, 2 or 3 times.
Rather unnerving to hit RTH and have a drone head out to Sea !
Or head toward a thick forest !

Couldn't find anything about HOME changing arbitrarily on any forums.
(and "Dynamic Homepoints" are Off)

Then while looking at the KMZ file from one of the Litchi flights,
I noticed the telemetry home point was hundreds of yards away from Take off.
It was approximately where I had killed DJI-FLY (for probably unrelated reasons),
and started Litchi - during the flight.

Well, the other moved Homepoints seemed to match places visited earlier in those flights too.

Shazam.

Up to that moment I assumed HOME / Takeoff was set in the drone.
Didn't have a clue where "Dynamic Homepoints" were stored, if at all.

So my suspicion on why it the drone was headed off to nowhere land is -

* Litchi resets HOME to where-ever the drone is when Litchi takes control.

Makes sense if RTH location is in the App or the Controller - rather than the drone.

Can you share a flight log so we can see what you're describing?

That's not how things work and it should be very easy to confirm this with a little testing.

But it's not.
The homepoint is recorded by the drone and stored in the drone.
It has to be for the drone to be able to return home if signal is lost.

Your recorded flight data might help work out what happened in your case.

@Dasher , as you can see there are folks that what to help. Please provide the requested information and perhaps a logical explanation can be provided for you.

There's a similar thread started by JJB* on the DJI forum, though the changes he is seeing aren't significant.

That makes sense.
So modifying my original conjecture --
when Litchi takes over mid-flight, it sends that new position's GPS location to the drone.

No .. It's the drone's homepoint, not Litchi's.
It's recorded recorded where the drone was when it first received good location data.
Litchi doesn't make a new home point wherever the drone is when you switch to Litchi.
My android tablet is blocking me from getting the log files, & I've had little time to fix that.
If you are having trouble accessing the files, it might be because you haven't found the extra step you have to follow to get to the files?

When you power up the tablet you won't have access to the files.
But if swipe downwards from the top of the screen to get this:

Then tap where I put the red arrow to get this and select the Transfer Files option.:
