Difficulty connecting app to my MA

Help! I have a recently purchased MA and I'm getting really frustrated. Every time I go to fly it I encounter a drawn out process of trying to connect to the aircraft. Then, in addition today it told me that the compass needed to be recalibrated. I followed the procedure as instructed with no result. Why does the app not connect to the app automatically?

What device are you using?

In What order are you turning things on? I have a MP, so I'm not familiar with the MA, but shouldn't be too different.

Doesn't matter but I like what someone pointed out, that they turn on the remote and display before the Bird so that if it takes off for some reason they can handle it.

I agree, but patience is a virtue.... I open GO4 app, then I plug my tablet into RC, turn on RC, then move bird to where it will take off from, then turn on AC. This gives time for app to open, and check firmware. If for some reason the app is slower for the OP (known problem on some android devices) this would allow time for things to "open up".

If the OPs app is slow, due process needs done to figure out why as this could cause problems during flight. I dont know as much as others when it comes to this, so I can only offer my experiences.

For what it's worth, I fly with a galaxy note 8 and a galaxy Tab s4.

Does the MA RC have the OTG port and the USB port? If so, which are you using? If you use the USB, but still have the OTG cable plugged in, the app will default to trying to use the OTG. I prefer USB over the OTG.
