Disconnected from wifi when in controller

I need to update the firmware on both the Mavic and a new battery but whenever I have my phone in the controller I can't access any wifi networks. They all disappear. I can't download the updates over 4G as that will cause significant data charges. I'm on a GalaxyS8 +. Anyone else experiencing this or have a workaround?

Try an area with better wifi coverage (multiple bands may help) or update using dji assistant.
