Ok so the title is a bit dramatic for what took place. I was doing a flight, about 1400 ft away, around 100ft up, did a fly by of a friends house. As I was circling I suddenly noticed my controller was saying "Aircraft disconnected" and was flashing red at me. My controller signal icon was pulsing with no signal. This is where one goes into a "Oh dear jumping crickets NO!" but I had full control with full HD video. No issues at all. I did however high tail it back to my landing point. Came in very hot but hovered over my head and then landed. I sat the controller down and waited for the status to change. It was still saying Aircraft disconnected yet, no issues. Still no signal on the icon as the controller sat next to the bird.

I have not got around to downloading the logs or anything. Still a fresh pilot when it comes to the Mavic, but not new when it comes to drones. I have had a disconnect before, lost visual from the camera but I could still see my bird so just flew it home. (Not a RTL user unless its an emergency.) I have scrolled around through the treads reading about the disconnects but didnt see anyone that had anything like mine. All the disconnects were reports of losing the bird or it crashing or it coming back on its own or RTL save. Anyone out there get a loss of signal but still able to fly and see with no issues? And, most of all, have it still flashing that there is no signal from the controller as it sits next to the drone?

Had something yesterday which is a bit similar. Shortly after takeoff phone showed several "USB device connection" mesages and the GO 4 app lost connection to the remote. While I tried to restart the app the Mavic changed its sound and begun descending down do 2ft where it then hovered. The remote showed "Landing". A close look to the Mavic told me that the real LED is blinking as if disconnected. I tried to abort the landing with Pause button as well as Sports mode switch. No reaction, same for the sticks and even the gimbal dial.
To avoid waiting until the full battery is empty and Mavic will land on its own I restarted the remote and got control back.
I have pulled the logs both from Mavic and remote and sent them to DJI for analysis.
