Disconnecting issues

Might I suggest you fly the drone without any cable or phone attached? Fly it within visual line of sight. If you still get a disconnect then it has absolutely nothing to do with your phone or cable. I would try testing that first to get an understanding of what is or is not an issue.

Also, what is displayed on the RC itself, not the app?
You can fly with just the RC, so if your app goes haywire, look on the RC. The only thing the RC display lacks is heading.
If the RC truly disconnected, it will display "Connecting....", same as it did when you powered it on and before you powered on the AC.

DId that work ?

I went and did two jobs today. I used the new cable AND ran my android phone in airplane mode. Worked like a champ for over two hours. Don't know which was the solution but one (or both) seems to have fixed the problem.
