Dji can (probably) allow the Mavic Air 2 to be compatible with goggles through a firmware update

The title says it all - I don’t think it’s that complicated for them to update the goggles to do so. If you plug your Air 2 controller into the goggles through the top port, it already shows all the information such as altitude, attitude, battery %, and all that. So, even if wireless pairing is not possible, all they need to do is reuse the code that already exists for the mavic 2 and allow it to work for wired connections. I’m not familiar with how it’s programmed but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The controller is giving the goggles all the information they need including video, they just don’t know how to interpret it.

And?

DJI might still force people to buy the M2P or Z to fly with goggles.

Good chance.

I say this having regard to the DJI Naza M vs V2 situation. Identical hardware. Significant price difference. Flash the V2 hardware onto the M and you have a V2.

You should have bought the M2 to support the goggles.
