In all my planning and preparation to get a Mavic I never stumbled upon the "48-hour-subscritpion-window" for DJI Care Refresh.

Even now, I only found it buried in their product page, at quite an advanced stage of the subscription process.

Why this heavily-restricted purchase window?

They could make the claims dependent upon sending the last flight log and, certainly, that would enable them to weed out any bogus/fraudulent claims.

For most users, either one has heard of the super-narrow opportunity beforehand or he/she are SOL, since it is not expectable that the attention of a new owner is focused upon registering and warranty-extensions/insurances subscriptions in the first 48 hours of owning a product, specially such a complex machine like this one.

I am extremely pi**ed...I wanted to purchase the product and, instead and because of their heavy-handed policy, I now am left on my own to fully face the consequences of a catastrophic failure.

You can still purchase DJI Care Refresh for Mavics that have been activated more than 48 hours ago. You'll just need to supply proof that your Mavic is in working order. See more details on DJI's website here.

...oh, I've seen the video in full now.

Unfortunately, I have no intention of contracting a TV crew to make the "proof" video as required.

One wonders why a full-flight log plus video from that very same flight won't suffice.

For what is described in the coverage scope it should be enough... :(

I watched their tutorial to prove you have a functioning drone. what pisses me off is I purchased the mavic refresh from an authorized dealer off ebay and he never gave me the activation code. He'll give me a refund but his incompetence cost me my refresh coverage. I doubt I'll go thru all that bs just to prove I have a functioning drone. The so called dealer should have his dealer privileges revoked. He should have known about the 48 hr. time. hell, his broken English is bad enough.

New member here who found this forum while seeking a solution to the same problem. I forgot to activate the code that I rec'd from my dealer (just too excited to get everything charged, set up, and updated. Anyway, my dealer was able to call the DJI Care support team and have the 48 hour clock reset! I was then able to active the Care plan on my end.

I love my Mavic Pro.

A++ to Florida Drone Supply (and dare I say, DJI?) !

Is this 48 hours from when you first activate the drone or when you purchase??

So, I could, for example, purchase the drone - not use it for weeks, and then when I am about to use it for the first time, activate it, and purchase DJI Refresh Care within 48 hours of just the activation??

Yes.

It's possible to activate DJI Care Refresh 48+ hours after activating your Mavic too. You'll need to follow these steps.

So what does this actually cover - accidental damage??

So within the first year if I accidentally damage the Mavic in any way it will be repaired or replaced free of charge, irrespective of how the damage occurred??

Yes, its after you activate the drone. So, if you buy it as a gift or something, no worries. I was fortunate to not have to go through the ridiculous steps laid out by DJI as referred to by Mavic Help as my dealer was simply able to have my 48 hour clock reset.

Right. You can read the full details here.

Thanks, although it mentions they will assess any damage and provide an invoice as you whether you wish to proceed with the repair?
Why provide an invoice if the repair is supposed to be free??

Also - another question - does the DJI Refresh Care need to be registered din the same country as the Mavic was purchased??
Eg, if I purchased my Mavic in the US but have it in the UK - can I activate and purchase DJI Refresh within the UK?

DJI Refresh is a waste of money. You are better off getting an insurance policy from State Farm for $60-$75. You get a new drone even if you can't retrieve it. DJI requires the crashed drone, you pay a deductible AND you have to wait over a month to get the replacement. So why did I buy DJI Refresh? Cause I didn't know about State Farm at the time.
