I saw something today in a video that I've never seen before. It was a video by Kelly (Ready Set Drone) where he was doing a range test on a Mavic 2 Pro with a standard controller. As he was flying the controller ICON on the left hand side of the app screen was changing to an airplane/C1 ICON and then back. I've never seen that before; what is it?

That's "fixed wing" mode. Instead of hovering, your drone just keeps moving forward and flies more like traditional R/C at the inefficiency of a quad. Interesting that the mavs aren't flat like a cheap toy quad. They oppose each other. And when you go forward it has the thrust downwards, and backwards as the tail picks up. So it might fly a better fixed wing, but more like a rotorcraft or maybe a sleak little hovercraft. Interesting little design they snuck in there.

A wingtra can go about an hour. It solves the problem of fixed wing and quad. It lands on its' tail.
