DJI issues urgent warning: 6 months until possible ban

For AI usage these days, there are so many out there you first will need to find the one you can trust and then you'll need to learn how to chat with it and ask the right questions. AI is getting better and better by the day and I can say it is 100x better today than last year. If I were to recommend one, start with Google Gemini AI mode and get familiar with how it works and note the references and citations given. If you need help forming good questions, you can ask ChatGPT to construct several for you which you can use in Gemini.

You can voluntarily poke around with this today or you can eventually be forced to deal with it on their terms tomorrow.

Perhaps if they changed the drone's color from grey to gold. That may help a lot. That and re-naming it from Mavic to reflect to reflect the color change.

since this whole 'controversy started around 20 months ago, I've had a hunch there was an inevitability to a ban, in one form or another, becoming reality. That path may have been diverted & delayed a couple of times, but the direction has been steady

I think it's even possible, don't know how probable, but possible that next year DJI may ground existing drones thru the Fly App. I'd imagine there will end up being hacks if that happens, but it might take a while. And yeah, I know I'll be called a chicken-little for that suggestion, but I was called a chicken-little before when I said I thought there would end up being some sort of ban

I haven't seen Vic Moss have any semi-optimistic take on all this lately

While DJI may have a big bone to pick with the U.S. government, I can't see them taking that out on their loyal customers by grounding our aircraft. The removal of GEO was a subtle FU to the government, but a gift to their customers, even if it creates more problems for all of us by letting everyone fly anywhere. RID presumably renders GEO moot, through accountability, but GEO, despite its problems, did prevent idiots from doing dumb things that they can now do.

I hope you're right

but, I wasn't talking DJI just deciding to ground their drones. I was thinking about the federal government, under this current erratic administration, ordering DJI to take that action

I didn't know how huge the figures are that is lot of business to lose.

While it's difficult to pinpoint the exact percentage, DJI has stated that the US market accounts for 30-35% of its worldwide business. This makes the US a significant market for the company according to a YouTube video. However, DJI is currently facing potential import and sales restrictions in the US due to national security concerns.
