DJI Mavic Pro Firmware Mod for TWO Controllers

Has anyone heard of a firmware mod or method of running TWO controllers but one dedicated for camera control?

Yes.
Yes! It is outlined in the manual or do a search in the forum.

While it's possible to fly the Mavic with dual remote controllers, you cannot choose which remote controller commands should be recognized on each remote controller. As long as both pilots are not trying to tilt the camera at the same time, it would be possible to dedicate one remote controller to tilting the camera (with a little cooperation from the pilots). Moving the camera from side-to-side will involve yawing the aircraft, so it'll take a little more cooperation there if both pilots are going to need to yaw.

Check out this video for more information:

Mike, if the goggles can move the camera all around, shouldn't a second controller be able to that too? I realize that it's not normal operations, but it should be possible for one to fly and one to have full control over the gimbal. Much like letting someone have the goggle control and the other flying the aircraft

Thank you. I was under the impression the 2 controllers were an either or scenario. If I can run JUST the camera with the second controller that would be great.

In anyone aware of a cheaper third party controller that will work with the Mavic as secondary?

It's technically possible (since the DJI Goggles can do it via head tracking), but there are no controls on the Mavic remote controller to move the camera. Yawing is the only option.

No. The Mavic can only be controlled with the DJI Mavic remote controller.

The Mavic camera has very restricted side to side movement, it's not a full 3D camera as some other drones have
