Looking for just the
mini 1, controller and couple of batteries. Maybe the bag if it came with the fly more. I have a friend that is looking to get into flying, but low budget. This is not a low ball, just what his budget is now. $100. We can chat offline on how many batteries or what can sold for something like this budget.

DJI Mavic Mini Portable Drone Quadcopter Starters Combo Bundle II | eBay
Here's some market info from my recently concluded Mini-1 hunt. What I initially wanted was what you describe, the drone, the controller, and one battery. What I ended up getting was a used Mini-1 Fly More Combo.
For the basic kit, this is the best I've seen:
DJI Mavic Mini Basic Combo Camera Drone-Used $260 Condition: 9/10 What's in the box: Drone with camera*1 Battery*1 Controller*1 Charging cable*1 OTG Cable*3 (iPhone, Type C, Micro) Propellers*6 Features: Weighing 249 grams, Mavic Mini is almost as light as the average smartphone, you can fly...

At $209, the price seemed excessive to me, and still does. But the price is what the market offers, not what you think is reasonable.
I bid $230 on a Mini-1 Fly More Combo on eBay, and lost the auction to a bid of $232.50. I just recently concluded a private transaction to buy a used Mini-1 Fly More Combo with someone from this forum for $230. I think that's an entirely reasonable price for the Fly More Combo, vs the $209 for the basic combo at Thrifty Drone.
I thought used Mini-1 prices would have tanked with the introduction of the Mini-SE basic combo for $300, but they haven't. In my judgement, $230 is a great price for a DJI Fly More Combo starter drone, vs $600 for a new Mini-2 Fly More. I haven't seen a Mini-SE Fly More Combo, but you can get a Mni-2 Fly More Kit...two batteries and a charging hub...for $145. I just concluded today, based on inputs from forum members, that the Mini-2 batteries work fine in the Mini-SE.
So, you can build your own Mini-SE Fly More Combo for $445. I'd recommend doing that if you want to get a new Mini-SE as your only drone.
So in summary:
Used Mini-1 Fly More Combo--$230 (when you can find one, not always easy)
New Mini-SE Fly More Combo--$445
New Mini-2 Fly More Combo--$600
A good Used Mini-2 Fly More Combo would be a good alternative to a new Mini-SE Fly More. With a very cursory search, I've seen those in the $450 - $500 range. It depends on how big your "new bias" is. Mine is generally huge, and I buy new when I can. You can get new Mini-1 Fly More Combos for $400, but my "buy new" bias wouldn't support the difference between that and a used Fly More Combo for $230
There are also non-DJI starter drone alternatives for less money, and you get what you pay for.
The Holy Stone HS-120D is a solid GPS drone for under $200. It's not DJI solid, but it's solid.
The Holy Stone HS-110D is a camera drone without GPS, for under $100. Don't even
think about getting a non-GPS drone unless it has trim, which allows you to sort of make it hover. When there's zero wind.
And the best under $50 drone that I've seen (no camera) is the H823H, originally from Snaptain. 30 bucks! It too has trim, which you don't always find with drones that cheap.
The Snaptain S5C is another great drone. It's out of production, but you the rumor is you can find them on eBay for $35. It has both trim and and SD card slot. Don't even
think about getting a camera drone that doesn't have an SD card slot. There's no significant price penalty for getting one that does.
