DJI MINI 2 LATEST FIRMWARE ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!

So having spent the last few days trying to find out why my gimbal has been uneven and not level looking on the horizon, I finally found out why, the latest firmware update. This was found on a popular youtubers channel who was also expirencing the same problem as me as well as many others, will the gimbal being uneven after countless calibartions yet still dosent work making filming near impossible to for level shots!

So I contaced DJI about this issue showing them the video but they wanted me to return my drone for inspection which is pointless as the video clearly shows its a firmware issue and not a hardware issue! This really frustrates me as DJI have not yet resolved this issue and they bascailly they said they cant do anything about it unless I return my drone for inspection and pay a fee for the inspection which is a joke! DJI should be able to fix this with a new firmware update, so let me know your guys view on this and if youve had this issue as well like many others and I also encourage you to reach out to DJI with this video if your having the problems so DJI can address it.

Did you try installing the previous firmware (or the one you were using before upgrading to 01.02.0300) in order to confirm it's an issue with FW 01.02.0300? That's the only way to be sure it's a FW issue and exclude hardware issues

When i do a manual adjustment in air and change the horizontal it doesn't do anything. I can adjust the number super high and it moves and then falls back into where I started.

Unfortanley this is not possible on the DJI Mini 2 as the DJI assitant only allows you to export logs and nothing else which is a great shame as would of fixed the issue if i could of downgraded to the prevoius firmware since i didnt have any issues then.

I too noticed my horizon was a bit off after the latest firmware update. I took my drone out for the first time in weeks and there was a new update and yes I installed it. After viewing the videos I noticed the horizon was off a bit. I thought it just needed to be calibrated which I haven't done as yet. So it seems there is an issue as I did not have that problem previously.

Unfortunately this seems to be the world we’ve allowed to exist these days. In so many industries the consumer has become a beta tester. Companies release unproven products to beat their competitors or save money. Then we’re all supposed to cheer as though they’ve done us a favor. There should be a rating system where you can pay extra for a dramatic reduction in production issues, oh wait there kinda is and it’s called buying “premium brands” like DJI. Maybe DJI feels the Mini is entry level and does not need to be flawless?

OTOH, maybe a past event that the effected drones experienced caused a hardware variance that doesn’t play nice with the new software update.
I’m very careful with my toys and always amazed how rough others treat their equipment and the resulting shorter life span.
Not implying that anyone in particular here mistreats their equipment, but how many videos have we watched were drones crash and we breathe a collective sigh of relief when the device is “unharmed”.
People lie to save face/money all the time, both manufacturers and consumers.
I hope you can get this resolved to your satisfaction. I haven’t installed the update. Is there a thread where we can vote on successive updates? Seems like valuable information.

To address uneven gimbal issue, sometime it is necessary to do IMU calibration, before gimbal calibration.

Updated to the latest version during the week. First flight I immediately noticed that the Horizon was tilted. I calibrated the gimbal on a flat surface indoors and it seems to be OK.

That video just tells you to do the same things that have already been recommended in this thread.

What the 2 videos indicate is that the horizon issue should be able to be resolved with manual adjustment in the app. If this does not work. You more than likely have a hardware problem that DJI needs to resolve

FYI: it will also allow you to refresh your RC controller with latest firmware 02.00.1200.

If the issue does not affect everyone, and if you've used the assistant to re-install the firmware or even older versions of the firmware if available and the problem does not change, that would seem to make it a hardware problem not a firmware problem.

If older firmware is not available and you've reinstalled the latest and the problem persists, you have two choices, either accept it or send it back to DJI with proof there is a problem to get it repaired.
The assistant for the DJI mini 2 does not allow you to re install firmware or downgrade which I would of done if possible which it isn’t.

it is very clear this is a firmware issue, from the fact it is effecting a large amount of people including as shown in the video, who also is an expert on drones with over 10k subs who would know if it’s a firmware or hardware issue which he has said is firmware, and I myself only had this issue after the update and on it had my drone a month and haven’t crashed it or damaged it in any way.

so that concludes it is a firmware issue even if some people are not noticing it such as yourself if you live in a hilly area where the horizon level can change or if your shooting down,

so it’s clearly something DJI need to address themselves without tons of people having to send their drone in for inspection when it’s a firmware issue looking at all the evidence and not having access to their drone for a month or so.
You are just whining suck it up send it back or buy a new one! My God !

I have the same problem as the author of this thread.
I have tried IMU calibration first, gimbal calobration as second... without any sucess.
I can set horizon at correct place but problem is the movement to the side. When do it, the horizon isn't at correct place.. Deviation from correct horizon depends on speed (position of stick).
Is possible to solve this? I am afraid that without correction of firmware (use older previous version or newer which solve this) is impossible to correct it.

Post a couple pictures after you adjust it and then make this side movement and then show that its no longer correct.. Then send that to DJI to prove a problem and see what they say..

Gimbal is aligned with horizon, my problem is when I do some move to the side. Gimbal overcompensate (or simply bad compensate) the side movement of the aircraft to hold straight horizon. I have this issue since this update. Look on video link below:

I posted it to the DJI forum.

Interesting, wondering if others see this issue just like that.. I would open a ticket with DJI if I were you,
