Hi,
I have been recently facing issue with the RC Controller of my dji mini 2 se. Whenever I am trying to connect the controller with the aircraft, the network signal becoming red after few seconds of the connection. Even if I am able to fly the aircraft, it is getting red after a minute or so. The aircraft is getting stuck at 20/25 meters of height and its freaking me out. It has started happening recently. I have upgraded my firmware recently . Not sure if it's associated with the firmware or not. Also tried to switch the frequency from 5 ghz to 2.5 ghz, but in cain . Please help .

Your mini 2 falls into the "nano" category, you're capped at 15 metres (+/- 50 feet).

You've updated to most recent firmware, so check on the safety tab of your main menu: has your maximum altitude been capped? What is your maximum distance set to?

Maximum height is not the issue . Even on the ground , the connection is showing poor. Maximum height has been set to 200 mtr. Also , I have flown the drone for more than 25 kms with max height reaching to 169 MTRS. So it's not an issue.

Not an issue? Even though you're saying that it's "...getting stuck at 20-25 metres and it's freaking me out..."?

The fact that it's started happening recently and after a firmware update might suggest that certain custom settings and parameters may have been reset or overridden (not unusual with some DJI updates).

Helping people usually revolves around a systematic troubleshooting process that investigates the control and 'safety' environment (flight app/flysafe restrictions) and software (drone/controller firmware and settings) before looking for RF transmission/mechanical causes.

The first thing I'd suggest is rolling back the firmware to the earlier version (last good configuration) and uninstalling the flight app before re-installing the previous version.

That way you'll see if the problem is still present.

If it isn't present: the firmware/flight app caused the glitch.

If it is still present: you can now concentrate on tracking down the hardware cause and discount a software cause.

Addendum

If you're using a controller with a built in screen, try rolling back the firmware using DJI Assistant 2 (consumer series drones)

From your British mini 2SE? The OP is from India. Different regulatory ball game... that's why Drone-Hacks and other de-restrictors include a workaround altitude hack specifically for mini drones used in India.

And don't forget that about 3 years ago DJI released an undisclosed firmware update that put a hard altitude cap (400') on mini 3 and mini 4 pro drones all across Europe and the UK... then when a shed load of owners threw a total blue-arsed fit and bombed their grievances on the DJI forum: a patch was thrown out in double quick time to "...rectify the mistake..." and everything went back to how it was before.

Tyke's Motto for the 21st century:

See all

Say nowt (...until an appropriate moment...)
