DJI Pilot App Bust

Is anyone familiar with this app? Last weekend I tried to use this app for some mapping practice, in a field in S. San Jose. In 'Manual Flight' mode it would only allow me to fly a certain distance/height before telling me I had reached my max limit, when it wasn't even close to the parameters I set. Switched over o the DJI Go 4 app and had no issues. IBM is down the street, but I was nowhere near their main building, thought geo-fencing. The 'Mission Flight' mode did absolutely the same thing. Not much help on use of DJI Pilot. Anybody?

i started using dji pilot app about a month ago on mavic pro. this app is very useful because dji go 4 wont let me do missions waypoint flight. i couldn't find manual instructions on how to use it though. i have successfully flown a mission thats about 2.5 miles in total distance. but it didnt do all the commands that i told to do at each waypoint. the drone lost control for about 5-6 minutes but made it back safely
